I'm really happy I bought this product. I have a new home that's in a subdivision that isn't complete and for the last two fall and winter seasons we have been battling mice. It got really bad over the holidays when we were out-of-town for a week. The mice ran wild all over my house. It was extremely upsetting to come home to mouse droppings EVERYWHERE. I was very nervous about putting traps and poisons in my home, because I have a young son and a small dog and both are into everything these days. I got one and stopped seeing dropping and the mice within a few days. I have since gotten two more one for my garage and one for the other end of the house. I love that I don't have to worry about chemicals around son or cleaning up the dead animals. I've told several of my friends and family about this.

I was quite skeptical when buying this but I was desperate to get rid of the mice in my attic. I could hear them every day but I have no "easy" access to set a trap in the attic. They were scratching and running back and forth up in the ceiling.. I plugged in the Pest Repeller and thought for sure that it would take weeks if it worked at all.. TWO DAYS and they were GONE!!!!!!!!! I still have it plugged in!

Bought three of these because those huge winged roaches (Palmeto bugs) were coming in the house. After theses were plugged in, no roaches, not one. Highly recommended.
This is an environmentally sound alternative to pesticides and traps, but the instructions must be followed ... July 13, 2010

In our home and camp we have pets and do not want to have any sort of hazardous chemicals or traps in the house. If you expecting immediate results, you are setting your bar too high. At camp there was still evidence of small rodent activity for a week before we started to see results. We had another similar device that lasted for several years and so far, so good with this one. In an unattended camp, rodent activity can wreak havoc on things like insulation or wiring, to say nothing of unsanitary conditions. For example, in our area we have red squirrels and they can be very destructive.
According to the small enclosed brochure it states that "Consumers repeatedly tell us that they have had great success using the PEST OFFense product to control rats, mice, and roaches . . . ants, spiders, squirrels, crickets, silverfish, waterbugs and earwigs." I can only vouch for the absence of mice and squirrels as those are the critters I don't care to have around and tend to be abundant in our area.
For each level of your home you will need one of these devices. For example, if you have a two-story building, you will have to purchase two of them. The directions clearly state where to place each unit for maximum effectiveness. If don't place your unit in a centrally located circuit on one floor I wouldn't be at all surprised if you have spiders or ants on the other end. Now, one thing to seriously take note of . . .
Do NOT use or purchase this device if you have the following pets:
Hamsters
Gerbils
Guinea Pigs
Minks
Chinchillas
Tarantulas
Or similar small pets
I like this type of product because it is an environmentally sound method of eradicating or at least reducing pests in the home. I've had great success with a similar product and am confident this device will serve me as well. Read your enclosed instructions before installing the device and you should be pest free in a week or so!

I have to say, I am usually skeptical about "As Seen on TV Products" and some of the scam alerts I read about this item when performing a Google search. I read the good reviews on Amazon, and decided to just give it a shot. I live in Honolulu, where you really cannot avoid roaches. The first week I was here, I found many dead roaches from traps that were set up, as well as always seeing some on the run whenever I turned on a light when entering the apartment at night.
After plugging in Pest Offense, I have seen maybe two to three roaches total in the one week it has been operating. They are far and few between now (unlike the one night I entered the apartment previous to having this product and saw about 5-6 on the run for their lives in the kitchen). I have contemplated getting boric acid, but it seems that this product has been holding its own and I have put those plans on hold.
I will update this review in a few weeks to let other reviewers know whether I had to resort to boric acid or not, but at the moment, it does not seem that I will need it.
June 2 Update:
Two weeks have passed, and I cannot recall the last time I've seen a roach, leading me to conclude this is working (at least for those with small apartments and on the roaches in Honolulu). I did not need to get boric acid.
July 8 Update:
I have seen 1 or 2 small roaches since June 2 and my roommate has seen one. Since we leave the drains open at times and Pest Offense does cycle on and off so it is not predictable, I think they come in during those periods. However, the roaches always seem to freeze and always make for an easy kill (maybe it's because the Pest Offense is cycled back on when I see them).
Another thing I have also noticed is that less bugs seem to be flying into or toward our apartment vs the first few weeks. I am not sure if this is a mere coincidence or due to pest offense. I have observed many flying insects flying toward the apartment and then straight away from it. We can even leave the windows open (we do not have screens) and not worry about insects flying in.
September 1 - Final Update
Alright...my last update. I moved to a new apartment 2 weeks ago. My roommate has been living here 1.5 years and said he had a roach problem. I saw what he meant within a few days of moving --- in the shower, bathroom, kitchen. I plugged in my pest offense and it has been operating for a few weeks. My roommate said there are much less cockroaches then there used to be, and he has even resumed putting food in the kitchen cupboards rather than the fridge. I second this observation that many of the roaches have left since I first moved in and pluuged in pest offense (and the ones that remain are among the smallest). To finish the roaches off, I got the roach poison and have seen even less now since putting it in one day ago. I think the Pest Offense is good for getting rid of the bigger guys and the poison will finish off whichever little ones decide to hang around. He is much happier now that the roaches are gone (we are on the 2nd floor of a large building).
